In The Nude: My Current Lip Favourites I’ve Been Wearing To Death This Spring

Hello sweetpeas!

I’ve been meaning to get a little lip favourites post done for a while now as my lippies are rapidly wearing down with use and before long they’ll be tiny little stumps that would be a right ol’ mess to try photograph – so today is the day!

Now if you know me well, you’ll know that I wear lipstick alllll the blinkin’ time and am hardly ever seen without it on- it’s basically an essential. My makeup collection mainly consists of lip products which is probably extremely excessive but I really can’t get a grip on my life, in fact I think it’s safe to say I’m addicted but hey, I think it’s a pretty decent thing to be addicted to right?

So anyway, I’ve definitely been wearing four particular nude shades this spring- day in, day out- and it probably doesn’t seem like they’re miles apart in colour but they really are (well as far apart as nudes are concerned I suppose). And I think there’s likely at least one shade from these four colours that will flatter your very skin tone, so they’re definitely worth looking into if you’re after a really beautiful natural lippy.

  1. Dior ‘Diorific Matte Fluid Christmas 2017 Limited Edition in shade 005 Charm’this is a gorgeous mauvey nude fluid that can be used on both your lips and cheeks as it has an amazing velvety smooth texture. I was lucky enough to receive this as a Christmas gift last year (sadly I don’t think it’s still available as it was limited edition), however do keep your eyes peeled as I feel Dior always bring out fabulous products around the festive season! I’ve basically emptied this out now as I wore it to death but I’m excited to hunt around for more lil’ beauties like this. (If anyone knows of any lip products that are of a similar sort of design, do please let me know)! Also how dreamy is the packaging?! You can definitely see how it must’ve been very popular around Christmas time with the gold features, but overall I think it’s just the cutest design and the shade itself certainly isn’t a disappointment either.
  2.  Mac ‘Brave’– This nicely leads us onto my next favourite mauve shade that I feel isn’t too dissimilar to the ‘Dior Matte Fluid’ – I think it could possibly be a pretty good dupe! ‘Brave’ is along the more ‘pinky-beige’ path for sure, so would really flatter warmer skin tones and it has a gorgeous satin finish to it which makes it perfect for both day and evening looks. It’s something I love to wear when I’m going out at night, but it’s not too much that it’s a no-no for the day- it can definitely be acceptably worn at all times! (Although even if it wasn’t, who blinkin cares?)

3. Mac ‘Velvet Teddy’– okay so this is my all time favourite lipstick that I’ve repurchased a countless number of times as it’s definitely my go-to that I wear most days. It’s a gorgeous deep-tone beige with a matte finish but without any drying or cracking of the lips which is lifesaving because nothing is worse than matte lippies that make smiling legit hurt, right? It has a really creamy formula that sinks into the lips so you don’t have to worry about how it’s going to look an hour down the line. I’ve seen Velvet Teddy against many different skin tones, and I can honestly say that it looked beautiful on all! I think it’s got those undertones that really work with most skin shades, which makes it a really nifty lipstick that can be loved by more than just a handful of people out there.

‘NYX Slide on Lip Liner Pencil in ‘Nude Suede Shoes’

4. NYX ‘Slide on Lip Liner pencil in Nude Suede Shoes’– Now I’ve been in love with this lip pencil for about a year or so now and it’s such a handy little product that I genuinely think everyone needs! It’s a beautiful pinky nude that defines your natural lip shape, but it can also be used as a lip colour on it’s own! It’s so amazingly creamy that it really does do what it says on the tin (pencil), ‘slide on’ -which makes for a dreamy lip application it has to be said gals. It’s the most gorgeous pinky shade as well which reminds me very much of Charlotte Tilbury’s ‘Lip Cheat lipliner in ‘Pillow Talk’, but this pencil is for sure an affordable dupe at just £6 – you really can’t go wrong.

And those are my top four favourite nude lippies that I really can’t stop wearing  ♥

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and it’s been a helpful insight into a few nude lipsticks out there! I know the world of lip colours can be quite daunting, especially when it comes to the hundreds of nudes that seem to be on the market, but hopefully this little selection has inspired you!

Do let me know, have you ever tried any of these shades? And if so did they work for you and if not, would you give any others a go?

I’m always up for trying out new lipsticks, so I’d love to know any recommendations you may have poppets!
