A Rock Chick Outfit/Makeup Look – With A Pop Of Pink!

Evening! ♥ Hope everyone’s had fabby weeks!

Today I wanted to do a bit of a mini- post (I’m calling it a mini post because it basically just consists of a load of photos of the same outfit, haha!) But I thought it’d be quite handy to show you how I like to style a leather biker – girl sorta look, as I feel it can be a little tricky to get the right balance between ‘rock chick’ and full on ‘let’s get the leathers on and go for a ride on the Harley’ – haha!

So only just the other morning, I threw on this outfit for a casual day out shopping with my little sister and I realised that I actually really liked the double leather effect (which is something that doesn’t sound quite right, I know)! I feel like this outfit is just the right amount of edge mixed with a girly touch, (which I think is the top tip here gals)! In order to not look like you’re literally about to swing your leg over a motorbike and speed away, I’d say to just make sure you’re adding pops of colour to the outfit, whether that be in your shoes or bag, it really does make all the difference! It just brightens and lifts the heavy leather vibe and provides the perfect balance!

In my outfit below, I’ve obviously opted for pink as my colour pop (no brainer really isn’t it) which I think gives that bold but feminine effect to the otherwise black and white outfit. Personally I quite like to add splashes of colour to a look with my nails and lips (which I’ve done here), but these mules also happened to be the same colour so I was quite chuffed about that haha! Love a bit of matchy matchy! I do love a bit of animal print as well, as I’m pretty sure you’re all aware, and I think a printed headband or pair of earrings is just perfect to add a bit of interest to an outfit that is otherwise fairly plain and simple. I seem to be living in this Primark leopard headband at the moment (seen below), but I do think it works particularly well with this outfit.

Sooo My Top Tips For The Double Leather Look Are:

  • Add splashes of colour to your outfit whether that be in your makeup, bag or shoes- it completely lifts the intense leather vibe and gives a chic, feminine touch. I obviously love a bit of pink – but pale blue, lilac or even white would look gorgeous!
  • Incorporate prints – this could be with a headscarf, jewellery or shoes, but animal print, polka dots, or florals can really make all the difference in changing the mood of an all–black outfit. The look will come across a lot more fun, from just adding the subtlest of details (for eg. a spotted headband or animal print loafers)
  • Choose your leathers carefully- this may sound rather odd, but there’s so many different types of leather and PU out there – some jeans for example are more shiny and squeaky, others more on the PU Coated side (which my jeans are below). So if you were to get a super shiny leather jacket and combine that with some wet look jeans, it probably won’t look too great (by all means I could be so wrong – watch this hit the catwalks this A/W lol) but the ‘coated’ jeans that I’ve seen about in places such as Topshop, H&M and River Island (mine are Topshop) have a very different effect to full on leather. For a start they feel pretty much like normal denim and are super comfy to wear, but they just have a subtle leather-y kinda look that is suitable to combine with a leather jacket. So definitely have a try on and see what works if you are wanting to re-create this look 🙂

Below is the full look for you lovelies, including the makeup and hair I opted for on the day too. A lot of the photos really are all the same, just different awkward standing positions and hand gestures HAHA- nonetheless I hope you like and I’d love to know your thoughts! Take care! X
